Medical & Dental practices

A phone line that answers when the front desk can't.

The medical and dental pack gives a practice an AI line that takes a full intake and schedules a callback or an appointment, a calendar with confirmations and recalls, and a patient record that shows the household, the referral and what is still outstanding before the visit.

The front-desk line

An AI receptionist that only offers what it can deliver.

With scheduling turned off, an agent collects the caller's name, number, date of birth, whether they are a new or existing patient and the reason for the call, then commits to a callback. Turn scheduling on and connect a calendar. In both cases, what the agent recorded appears as a captured contact for a person to approve, with a link to the recording.

  • Answers questions about hours, locations, services, insurance accepted and self-pay pricing from your own documents, limited by topic
  • Records patient fields (name, date of birth, insurance carrier) into the patient record
  • Transfers to the front-desk queue with the transcript attached
  • Voicemails are transcribed and proposed the same way
  • Emergencies are out of scope by design: the agent gives the practice's emergency instructions and transfers. It does not triage
Scheduling

One calendar for the front desk, the chair and the room.

Appointments made by an agent, by staff or by the patient from a confirmation link land in the same calendar and the same per-patient history. Google and Microsoft calendars sync both ways. Your practice-management system stays the system of record; Sundial handles the conversation around each visit.

  • Day resource board by provider, operatory or room; week, month and mobile agenda views; printable day sheets
  • Tokenized confirm and reschedule links by SMS, WhatsApp or email, with consent checked per channel and per purpose
  • Recall campaigns for hygiene, annual and follow-up visits, paused automatically when the patient replies
  • Imported appointments show which system owns them
Calendars
Google and Microsoft two-way sync; manual entry for practices without a connected system
Views
Day resource board, week, month, year, mobile agenda; printable worksheets
Confirmations
Tokenized confirm links, follow-up task rail, file attachments per booking
Reminders
SMS, WhatsApp and email from templates; consent per channel and purpose
Records
Patient, household and case; search by any of them from one box
Cases

The case record shows what is outstanding before the visit.

Records and referrals as gates

A new-patient or referral case can require the referring office's records, imaging or a signed release before it advances. Files open in one viewer.

Insurance and intake

Intake forms, insurance details and consent forms are gates on the case, requested by link before the visit so the front desk isn't collecting them at check-in.

Deposits and treatment plans

Connect the practice's own Stripe account. A gate can require a settled deposit on a treatment plan, paid from a link.

Search by the patient

Search a name or date of birth to find the patient, their household, and the household's open cases.

Vocabulary

Patients, households, providers and cases throughout the product.

Insights

What patients call about most, first-reply times by channel, and no-show and recall rates. Coaching matters for the front desk arrive in a weekly digest.

Patient information

Consent, access and an audit trail on every conversation.

Every message, call recording and transcript sits on the patient record behind role-based access, and every send is checked against consent per channel and purpose. The append-only audit ledger records who viewed, sent or changed what, so a records request or a complaint can be answered from the system rather than from memory.

  • Consent per person, channel and purpose, including appointment reminders versus marketing
  • Role-based access to recordings and transcripts; export on request
  • Append-only audit ledger across contacts, cases, messages and calls
